It is a common method to identify irregular operation of tapered roller bearing by hearing. For example, experienced operators can use electronic stethoscope to detect abnormal noise of a part. If the bearing is in good operating condition, it will make a low whine sound. If it makes a sharp hissing sound, squeak and other irregular sounds, it usually indicates that the bearing is in bad operating condition.
1. Tile surface corrosion: abnormal concentration of nonferrous metal elements is found through spectral analysis; There are many submicron wear particles of nonferrous metals in ferrography; The moisture and acid value of lubricating oil exceed the standard.
2. The journal surface is strained: there are iron cutting abrasive particles or black oxide particles in the ferrography, and there is tempering color on the metal surface.
3. Journal surface corrosion: the spectral analysis found that the iron concentration was abnormal, there were many submicron particles of iron in the ferrography, and the moisture or acid value of the lubricating oil exceeded the standard.

5. Fretting wear of bearing back: spectral analysis found that the iron concentration was abnormal, there were many submicron wear particles of iron composition in the ferrography, and the moisture and acid value of lubricating oil were abnormal.
Under the condition of liquid lubrication, the sliding surface is separated by the lubricating oil without direct contact, which can also greatly reduce the friction loss and surface wear, and the oil film also has a certain vibration absorption capacity
Sharp squeaking noises may be caused by improper lubrication. Improper bearing clearance can also cause metal noise. The dents on the outer race track of tapered roller bearings will cause vibration and a smooth and crisp sound. If the knock scars caused during installation also produce noise, which will vary with the bearing speed. If there is an intermittent noise, it means that the rolling element may be damaged. The sound of tapered roller bearing occurs when the damaged surface is rolled. If there are pollutants in the bearing, it will often cause a hissing sound. Serious bearing damage will produce irregular and huge noise.
Although bearing damage can be detected by hearing, it is usually time to replace the bearing immediately. Therefore, better methods such as using electronic condition monitoring instruments, tapered roller bearings to pre break the operation of the bearing.
